Stat Counter
Stat Counter is one of my favorite free tools. With Stat Counter, I can not only keep up with traffic to my blog but learn a little bit about visitors.
Stat Counter breaks down hits to your website into page loads, unique visitors, first time visitors, and returning visitors. Results are presented in a graph format, so it’s easy to visually see which days, weeks, or months generated more traffic. It’s good to know if you have a stellar day so you can examine what was different or might have driven traffic that day.
I have Stat Counter on several of my websites and it helps to know how much traffic I receive because sometimes raw stats can be a bit confusing. It’s nice to have it presented in a pretty and uncluttered format.

I’ve never used Stat Counter before, I currently use Google Analytics on all my websites.
I was curious if you ever used Google Analytics and if so, what are some of the differences that make you prefer Stat Counter?
If I have a chance, i’ll probably test out Stat Counter soon, but was just curious if there are any cool features it has

Stat Counter is not as fun as Google Analytics but I like Stat Counter just for a quick, no frills glance at visitors. I like simple and fast. I do enjoy using Analytics too but haven’t really gotten the hang of it yet. I need too because I keep reading how great it is..;)

Ok great thanks for the info!
I’ve set up some websites for people in the past who wanted to know how their site was doing, but were a bit annoyed with Google Analytics because it just overwhelmed them with iformation and terms they didn’t really understand.
Sounds like Stat Counter would be perfect to recommend for people who just want a quick and simple idea of how their site is doing, rather than a huge database of information they probably don’t care about.
Also just as a note for you, depending on when you last used Analytics, it has recently received an upgrade so you may prefer the new interface. The old one definitely had a very steep learning curve.
