Google PageRank Update Ongoing

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Search Engine Roundtable forum members have reported observed changes on Google’s pagerank toolbar. I’ve checked on this blog’s pagerank today and still no Google love for its homepage but the seo tool category and other categories are already showing PR3’s.

So yeah, Text-Link-Ads and other link brokerage services can’t get anything out of this blog yet if one of their requirements is a high PR.

451 Press Rolls Out New Blog Layout

Friday, December 1st, 2006

451press If you’ve been visiting this blog for quite some time, you’ll notice that since yesterday its layout has been re-designed.

Round edges and 451 Press flame logo’s soul subtly sitting regal at the background of the list of 451 blogs - so Web 2.0 a blog layout don’t you think?

It would be nice if each of our blogs have a different header design. But that would soon be resolved, I’m sure.

I’m liking its overall impact. Thanks Chrispian, Shickles, and Kim.

But what can you say about this new layout?

Another Alibi Why SEO Dance is Still Sandboxed

Monday, November 20th, 2006

surviving quicksand After announcing to the whole blogosphere that Google still snobs this blog, I have found one more reason why SEO Dance won’t rank well:

AdSense ads make it hard for sites to get a decent search engine placement. This is according to a survey conducted by RankingMeasures. Its press release includes:

“To the search engines, one warning sign of a spammy (read: uncool for the search engines) website is the presence of contextual advertising.

But no, this news, actually it’s an old news, won’t deter me from getting in better terms with the big G and with just all the search engines ever made. I’m not spamming… right?

SEO Dance Experiment after 1 Month

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

SEO experiment It’s been a month since I announced my SEO Dance Blog experiment. Now here’s what have become of my blog in the eyes of Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

But before that, you might want to know about the procedures of the experiment:

SEO Blog Content Optimization
I have produced a total of 40 blog posts, which is quite an accomplishment for me because I have never blogged this frequent for any of my own blogs. But for the sake of this SEO experiment, I did it! Actually, I just didn’t want to get booted out of the 451press team. No, really. It’s a part of my goal to come up with a certain number of posts and find out how will SEO Dance fare with the major search engines.

Forum Participation
Aside from posting semi-regularly, I started getting into forums like Steve Pavlina’s , Webmaster World and just a few days ago, Conquer Your Niche.

Getting into the Nerves of other Bloggers
I also started becoming more active in leaving comments (read: not spamming) to blogs though they are not all necessarily related to SEO. However, this at first I did not plan on doing since I’m really much of a lurker but I can’t resist not joining in the convo, especially with the fun posts of BinaryDollar, which I’ve been reading for quite some time now.

Blog Submission Mission
If you will be searching for SEO Dance using Google, you will see that some blog directories where I submitted it, were already indexed. So far, there were about three blog directories that I already bugged for ‘em to display this blog.

Monday, November 6th, 2006

effective on-page SEO Chris Pearson of Pearsonified shared his on-page optimization triumph by employing two methods that have caused his site’s search engine traffic to increase by 455% in one month:

1. Using Wordpress as a content management system (CMS) tool and;

As for this SEO blog, I’m still waiting for the new blog theme to be rolled out next week before I can request tweaking for on-page SEO purposes.

Do the SEO Dance

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Who would have thought I’ll be blogging about Search Engine Optimization in the near future? What? You don’t know what SEO is? SEO or Search Engine Optimization is one of the million mojos that enable Larry Page and Sergey Brin afford to buy YouTube for $1.65 billion.

Seriously, SEO or Search Engine Optimization is all about flirting with the search engines, especially the big ones MSN, Yahoo!, and of course, Dogpile, Google.

Why would you want to flirt with search engines? You want to be found. You don’t want to get lost in the middle of millions of search results. Searchability is the goal of many SEO’s (Search Engine Optimization professionals). But it’s not plain Jane searchability SEOs aim for. It’s high searchability. It’s getting found EASILY. How’s that accomplished?

Do the SEO Dance!

If you have been longing to get your site get that search engine visibility, searchability, sorry, but I won’t tell you how to get your website’s a$s up over the hilt of Search Engine Results Page (SERP).  But I can lead you to resources that can help you with that. Is that OK with you?

Oh by the way, I’m Alfa Mercado. I run a home business managing a team of SEO copywriters. I’ve been in the blogging scene since time immemorial and Search Engine Optimization has been playing in my mind, especially when I joined one local SEO Contest and lost backed out. :-)

I believe this blog will be undergoing some layout change soon. Our mother blog network 451 Press is currently holding a Wordpress Theme contest. Care to join? $2,000 is at stake!
