Entrepreneur New Year Resolution: Better SEO for E-tailer Site

Entrepreneur.com Sales and Marketing section proposed four New Year resolutions for business people with e-commerce sites. One suggests about making a website earn a better search engine placement through SEO efforts.

Resolution #3: Increase SEO efficiency. “We seek top-five placement for our top five keywords on the organic listings of Google, Yahoo! and MSN,? says Stamp. “We took away some imagery on our landing pages because search engines [only] read text.? Stamp hired a company to work solely on search engine optimization.

The other three initiatives to improve conversion include focusing on the customer from website use to order placement, personalization of products and marketing efforts, and addition of customer feedback and reviews.

Anti-Duplicate Content Wordpress Plugin

duplicate content penalty For those who are still too worried about getting penalized for duplicate content, a Wordpress Plugin, DupPrevent is born.

DupPrevent claims to control NOINDEX meta tags and also includes robots.txt file, which prevents search engine spiders on crawling trackbacks, feeds and WP-directories.

The Tagometer opens things up from there - using a JSON data feed from del.icio.us, the Tagometer includes an up-to-date count of others who’ve already bookmarked the page, as well as a fresh list of the top tags applied.

Google Clarifies What is Duplicate Content

Duplicate content penalty. You might have read of that already. But what really is duplicate content?

Duplicate content is blocks of texts that are considerably similar or that completely matches that of another domain’s or even just within a page.

But what if you’re getting all too worried that whatever you write or blog you double-check first using Copyscape?

To get rid of too much stressing over what’s duplicate and what’s not, Google has cleared up the smoke too on what is NOT duplicate content:

Too much for imagining people taking a stand ovation for you after reading that Time’s linkbait, huh?

But if you have been one netizen who generate content for the Internet for the good of the afflicted, then, yeah, you’re right YOU really are worthy of being labeled as the Person of the Year.

Most Searched Keywords on Google for 2006

Page and BrinThe social networks won the curiosity of most of Google search users. And this is documented by the list of Top 10 Most Searched Terms on Google for the year 2006. Bebo isthe top searched term, which is one lesser-known social network website compared to Myspace, which maybe the reason it’s highly-searched?! Huh?! The second most-searched, Myspace, is the highly sensationalized social network that has even topped Yahoo! in terms of number of searches.
