SEO Attacks er Techniques
Doesn’t that title sound like a kind of alien invasion film? If you haven’t read my SEO experiment announcement yet, I won’t do a recap for you. Please don’t be a lazyas$, do read it.
To those who have read it, as promised, here is my SEO-fu plan.
Search engine optimization is so much of a guy’s craft I’ve noticed. This is because I don’t know of too many ladies out there trying to tinker on SEO. However, although I can’t be those kinds of guys who can and would try to understand the Google algorithm, I do enjoy working on each aspect that allegedly compose the Google algorithm. Why am I having this love-hate relationship with the Google algorithm? Google is the search engine which is known to be the hardest to please because of its retro-virus like nature - it has already evolved even before any search engine optimizer or analyst has cracked its code.
However, since I’m not going to compete against those millions of search results because I have a client who will pay me for to reach the top of the SERPs, this experiment should not be that taxing. But still, having a blog that should be dealing with search engine optimization, I can’t be a runny-nosed invalid settling for a page 20 of the SERPs, which is one feat on its own already if you are competing with millions of blogs.
Ok, enough of the yada-yada’s. Here are my SEO tactics:
1. Layout optimization.
I’m crossing my finger wishing that the winner of the Wordpress Theme contest for 451 Press blogs will be churning out a blog design that will be easy to optimize for the search engines. I’m not an HTML tweaker sad to say but I’ve heard there are certain blog layouts that are search engine spider magnets. These search engine spiders are the computer critters that the search engines distribute to sites to make a record of their content. SEO techniques should make it easy for these spiders to crawl or find a site’s content.
2. Content optimization.
Having almost 2 years of SEO copywriting background should help me here. I have learned that a blog with a good keyword density of the keywords within the blog’s niche is loved by the search engines. But a blog can’t be too keyword-stuffed because redundancy, which is what can happen when going overboard with keyword density consciousness, can easily turn-off readers. I hope that I’m not doing right now.
Other content optimization that should not be overlooked includes having descriptive titles and opening paragraphs that include the topic keywords.
3. Forum participation
This is an off-site SEO technique that can contribute to the link popularity of a blog or website. Link building is well known optimization tactic that when done effectively, can make a site earn a sweet top spot on the SERPs. The signature part of each post should help me here.
4. Stats
Stats access is not only for ego-boosting. The major role of gaining an access to the traffic stats of a blog is to see the strong and weak points of your blog’s content.
Will be discussing more of each of those SEO techniques soon.
