Tino Buntic is one of those bloggers who is indirectly advocating this. His project of linking to 2000 Bloggers in one page has been doing mojo to the Technorati rankings of those he has linked to.

If you’re on the 2000 list already, check your Technorati rankings; they’ve been increasing for everybody (that’s a nice unintended benefit). if you’ve just been added, check Technorati in a few days and you’ll see that your own rankings are increasing as well.
